The summer is not over yet, but I have so many ideas that it's time to return back and start working! I thought a lot how to make the educational process ecxiting and interesting for my students. I have been searching the internet to find some fresh ideas. Suddenly it came in to my mind that the best way to get children to be involved in education is to create a fairy tale and make it become a reality. As my favorite "fairy tale" is the one about Harry Potter it was obvious that I need to create my own Hogwarts!!! And the work started...
I have reread all the books about magic world of Hogwarts by J.K.Rowling. Of course bright films from Warner Br. helped me greatly.
There are three desk rows in my classroom so I've left only three faculties: Gryffindor, Hufflepuff and Slytherin. I've printed the banners and put the emblems on each desk. Of course I've made an emblem on the door.
The students will be sorted into the faculties by the magic sorting hat that was made with paper. All the atudents from grades 5 to 11 that will be divided into the faculties will become a "family" that competes for the scores to become the best faculty at school. In the corner there is a special board where we are going to write the points to know the results of the competition.
The competition will take place all the school year. The marks for each lesson will be summed up. Students can get extra marks if they take special tasks. If the behaviour during the lessons is bad or children haven't done the hometask the points will be substructed from the total summ.
In the classroom there are many details such as the owl that from time to time bring news and tasks, letter from "real" Hogwarts, classroom elf Dobby.
You can also find the "Box of punishment" from Severus Snape.Students who have no homework are ought to take extra task from this black box.
One of the wardrobe parts is called "The Chamber of Secrets". That is the place for notebooks and control works.
Sometimes students can try to use their mobite phones. To fight with this I've made an Azkaban for mobile phones.
Of course, every magic society has its magic newspaper. The "Daily Prophet" can be read by any volunteer.
All the issues will appear on this site in the part "Hogwarts".
For those who want to have creative work can prepare a project with mister Wisley.
There are also some sections with extra tasks from miss Granger and miss Polumna Lovegood. They are for everyone who is ready with the lesson tasks.
So, as you can see my classroom is full of different details and is rather bright. So that is a good decoration for my new project "Magic Education" that will soon start.
